Six DVD Rippers, which one best for Valentine’s Day?

February 8th, 2010 No comments

Valentine’s Day is getting close; if your loved one enjoys movies and you have a lot of DVDs, it is good time you get a right DVD Ripper to convert the DVDs for playback on portable devices like iPod and enjoy hours of sweet time snuggling up to each other in the park, on the beach or somewhere romantic you can think of. Today, I will compare six DVD Rippers and let the truth tell you which is best for your DVD movie enjoyment on romantic Valentine’s Day.

Name Version Price Website
Cucusoft Ultimate DVD Converter 8.01 $45.95 www.cucusoft.com/
Magic DVD Ripper 5.4.2 $34.97 www.magicdvdripper.com/
Leawo DVD Ripper 2.2.1.0 $29.95 www.leawo.com/
Pavtube Video DVD Converter Ultimate 3.3.1.844 $49 www.pavtube.com/
Wondershare DVD Converter Ultimate 5.3.0 $65.95 www.wondershare.com/
Xilisoft DVD Ripper Ultimate 5.0.62 $55.95 www.xilisoft.com/

Since there is no standard for what DVD Ripper software should look like, it makes no sense to compare between their functions. But one thing is clear, are they adequately fit for the task of DVD to video conversion? Concerning common urgent needs, I will give benchmarks to each DVD Ripper on installation, user interface, conversion flexibilities and output quality.

How to unplug or eject devices?

January 26th, 2010 No comments

1. In the notification area next to your task bar, double-click the Safe Removal icon. Safe Removal displays a list of Plug and Play devices that support safe removal and that are currently attached to the system. If you do not see the Safe Removal icon, your device does not support safe removal, and you cannot unplug or eject your device using Safe Removal.

2. In Safely Remove Hardware, in the list of devices, select the device that you want to unplug or eject, and then click Stop. This tells the system that you will be unplugging or ejecting the device.

3. In Stop a Hardware device, click OK. A notification appears stating that it is now safe to unplug or eject the device. Unplugging or ejecting a device that supports safe removal without first using the Safe Removal application to warn the system can cause data to be lost or your system to become unstable. For example, if you use Safe Removal, however, you can warn the system before you unplug or eject a device, preventing possible loss of data. For removable storage devices that can safely be removed while the system is on, the system disables write caching by default. It does this so the devices can be removed without loss of data. When write caching is disabled, however, the system will likely experience slower performance, so be sure to enable write caching when you have finished removing the device.

The computer say “CMOS Battery Low”

Question: My computer says: “CMOS Battery Low”, what should I do?

Answer:

If your computer is without power (i.e. unplug the computer power source from the power outlet and remove the battery pack from it) for over 45 days, you would lose the information stored in CMOS. Please follow the steps below to reconfigure your CMOS settings:

1. Press F2 to enter into the BIOS setup utility.
